Bio 

Jessica E. Moyer is an instructor for Library Juice Academy and course developer for the Library Support Staff Certification program.  She is a Library Ambassador for the Library Reads program and a longtime participant in the EarlyWorld Galley Chat #ewgc.  She also works as an freelance editor for scholary publications, including dissertations, books, and journal articles.  Jessica has worked as the Director of Library Services for the Katie Mueller Library at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky, a visiting librarian in the Reference and Instructional Services department at the University of Illinois Library and an assistant professor in the School of Information Studies at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.  She received her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in Literacy Education and MS and CAS degrees from the University of Illinois, Graduate School of Library and Information Science.  Moyer has taught reference and readers' advisory courses for LIS students and continuing education courses for over 15 years in online and in person formats. Moyer has published articles in Reference and User Services Quarterly, New Library World, Journal of Adult and Adolescent Literacies, and the Libraries Unlimited Readers’ Advisor Newsletter, and is the author of Research-Based Readers’ Advisory (American Library Association, 2008), co-editor of The Readers Advisory Handbook (ALA Editions 2010) editor of the Integrated Advisory Services (Library Unlimited 2010) and Crossover Advisory: Stretching Collections to Better Meet the Needs of Library Patrons (Libraries Unlimited 2016).  An active member of ALA, Moyer has served as a member of the editorial boards for Reference and User Services Quarterly and Booklist’s Reference Books Bulletin, and a liaison and committee chair for the Reference Services Section (RSS). She has reviewed fiction, audiobooks, reference books, and professional reading for Booklist and Library Journal.
